I want one of these!

What do you mean, you don’t have one of these in your garden yet? The ‘Purple Pansy’ Redbud is a native to Georgia, and following the beautiful blooms in March, you are rewarded with a spring foliage extravaganza. Cercis canadensis ‘Purple Pansy’ (Eastern Redbud)

My first decoupaged comic book earrings.

My first decoupaged comic book earrings.

I’ve been playing around with decoupage materials lately. I used a small wooden birdhouse, scrapbook paper from JoAnn’s, decoupage paper from Dekostudija, and pages from a discarded novel. The yellow trim and blue perch are painted with acrylic.  I’m happy with the result!

Dusk at home. Kids are laughing and playing at the park beyond the fence. A small dog barks in the distance. Wind rustles leaves on the oaks that guard our home. The pool ripples softly. Jupiter and brighter Venus rise punctuated by a sliver of moon. I feel perfect peace.

Help Marc With a C put “Normal Bias” on vinyl!

retrolowfi:

I’ve just launched a Kickstarter to help me put my 2007 album “Normal Bias” out on vinyl. I have 45 days to reach the goal. Crazy perks for pledging and everything. Please check it out and help if you can! Also, please share the link everywhere shamelessly, because I’m really nervous about failing.

Click this link and help out. Do it for the cause! Or do it for The Coz!

Oh, and watch the video at that link. Explains everything! Promise!

Dress I made out of romance novels during the end of November. It took 2 weeks only because I had no idea what to do with the bottom.  Seriously- what was I supposed to do with it?  Finally the inspiration came from this ugly electric blue feather skirt. Seeing the hideousness of it made me question how I could recreate it in paper.  No idea for a title yet- Ideas?

ACTA in a Nutshell –
What is ACTA?  ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.
Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”
What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.
Essential ACTA Resources -
Read more about ACTA here: ACTA Fact Sheet
Read the authentic version of the ACTA text as of 15 April 2011, as finalized by participating countries here: ACTA Finalized Text
Follow the history of the treaty’s formation here: ACTA history
Read letters from U.S. Senator Ron Wyden wherein he challenges the constitutionality of ACTA: Letter 1 | Letter 2 | Read the Administration’s Response to Wyden’s First Letter here: Response

Say NO to ACTA. It is essential to spread awareness and get the word out on ACTA.

COME ON HOW DOES THIS HAVE SO LITTLE NOTES?

I want to try making something like this. I’ve been working with wire, and I love the technique used here. These are beautiful!
